For this gorilla trekking tour, one must have slept in Kigali for an early rise-up. You will wake up at 4:30 am, take an early breakfast and then after start the journey at 5:00 am, taking about 2 – 2:30 hours’ drive to the Volcanoes National Park Rwanda headquarters in Kinigi. You will arrive at the volcanoes park in time and straight away take briefing about the rules and guidelines of gorilla trekking in Rwanda. After briefing, your driver will drop you to your gorilla trekking starting point based on your allocated gorilla family/group for tracking.

After gorilla trekking you will have lunch at Lapalme Hotel or any other lodge in the area and start on the journey back to Kigali where you arrive in the evening. Upon arrival, the driver will either drop you to your booked accommodation in case you have a night in Kigali or to the airport in case you have flight to another travel destination. This marks the end of a 1 day Gorilla Trekking Safari.

Alternatively, one may have a 1 day gorilla trekking tour in Uganda in case there are no permits in Rwanda. Gorilla trekking in Uganda is done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. These gorilla parks in south western Uganda are very close to Rwanda. And it take only 4 hours to reach any of the the park.
